Maum Privacy Policy

The ‘maum’ app service (hereinafter, the “Service”) operated by Life Oasis (hereinafter, the “Company”) establishes and operates the following Privacy Policy to protect personal information, rights, and interests of the Users pursuant to the Act on Promotion of Information and Communications Network Utilization and Information Protection, Etc. (hereinafter, “Communications Network Act”).

Article 1) Collection, Use, and Retention Period of Personal Information

  1. The Company collects the minimum amount of personal information necessary for the provision of the Service by varying the purpose of collection, items, and period of retention and use of personal information according to the Service provided as below.

  2. • Membership Registration and Customer Management

    1. – Purpose of collection: Membership registration by a customer himself/herself, mobile phone number authentication, customer management

    2. – Required collection items: Mobile phone number, location data (GEO IP), terminal data (model name, OS version, unique device identification number, mobile operator information)

    3. – Optional collection items: Nickname, gender, date of birth, profile picture

    4. – Use and retention period: Until the membership is withdrawn

  3. • Service Use

    1. – Purpose of collection: For the purpose of using the Service such as profile management, social calls, and matching, use of search algorithm functions, and use as profile images

    2. – Required collection items: Call details (voice), automatically collected data

    3. – Use and retention period: Until the membership is withdrawn

  4. • Service Quality Improvement

    1. – Purpose of collection: Data analysis and statistics to improve service quality

    2. – Required collection items: Device ID, call history, other service use history

      ※ Personally identifiable information is not included in the analysis items.

    3. – Use and retention period: Until the purpose of data analysis is achieved

    4. – Purpose of collection: Monitoring and preventing reregistration of wrongful users

    5. – Required collection items: Nickname, unique identification ID, call history, other service use details, purchase history, call details

    6. – Use and retention period: Person information of users whose accounts are permanently suspended are retained permanently under the Service Use Policy

  5. • Customer Inquiry

    1. – Purpose of collection: Service inquiry and response

    2. – Required collection items: Unique identification ID, inquiry content

    3. – Use and retention period: Until the membership is withdrawn

  6. • Event Participation (optional)

    1. – Purpose of collection: Identifying event participants and gift delivery

    2. – Required collection items: Unique identification ID, mobile phone number

    3. – Use and retention period: Until the membership is withdrawn or for a separate retention and use period agreed by the customer

    4. ※ The event participation details included in the service promotional materials are not automatically deleted upon membership withdrawal.

  7. • Consent to Receive Advertisement Information (optional)

    1. – Purpose of collection: Consent to receive information such as service benefits and event information using texts, emails, and pushes

    2. – Required collection items: Nickname, KakaoTalk ID, mobile phone number

    3. – Use and retention period: Until the membership or consent is withdrawn

  8. • Processing of Personal Information

    1. – The Company does not offer the Service to underaged persons younger than 14 years of age and does not collect relevant personal information.

    2. – Please refer to the Operation Policy for personal information that the Company processes for call matching.

    3. – The Company collects personal information in the following methods and obtains prior consent before collection.

    4. ① A method in which the User directly inputs personal information in the process of using the Service.

    5. ② A method in which access records and usage records, etc. are automatically created and collected in the process of using the Service.

Article 2) Installation and Operation Rejection of Automatic Personal Information Collection Devic

  1. The Company automatically generates/collects the following information of the User in the process of using the Service, and the following information can be used for the purposes as below.

  2. • Notice on an automatic collection of personal information and rejection method

    1. – Collected items: Visit record, access IP data, service use record, mobile communication terminal type, model name, OS version, location-based data, the communication connection status of all activities that occur within the app, network type

Article 3) Retention and Use Period of Personal Information and Destruction

  1. The Company processes personal information collected from the User within the retention/use period of personal information for which the Company obtained consent upon collecting thereof or the retention/use period of personal information under applicable laws. When the pertinent purposes are achieved or the retention/use period elapses, the Company destroys the personal information without delay by a method that cannot recover or reproduce thereof.

  2. • Member Information

    1. ① When the User withdraws from the Service membership, the Company retains the personal information of the User for one (1) year to prevent unauthorized use. In this case, the personal information is stored in a personally unidentifiable state, and the same ID is prohibited from re-registering. However, information on permanently suspended accounts is not deleted.

    2. ② An account of the User who does not use the Service for one (1) year is converted to a dormant account, and the personal information is safely stored separately from the membership DB in operation.

    3. ③ When the User withdraws from membership, the retention of personal information is determined by provisions of applicable laws when the laws require retention thereof.

    10. D. Record on consumer complaints or dispute settlement

    13. E. Retention of records of access

Article 4) Entrustment of Personal Information Processing

  1. The Company entrusts part of personal information processing tasks for smooth processing of personal information and supervises the safe processing of personal information by the Trustee under applicable laws. When the content of the entrusted tasks or the Trustee is added or changed, the Company will notify on prior consent under applicable laws or disclose through the Privacy Policy without delay.

Article 5) Overseas Transfer of Personal Information

  1. The Company does not provide personal information of the User to other business operators overseas.

Article 6) Measures to Ensure Safety of Personal Information

  1. The Company is committed to preventing loss, theft, leakage, alteration, or damage of personal information by safely managing the personal information of the User and implements necessary technical, administrative, and physical measures.

Article 7) Rights of Users and Legal Representatives and Methods of Executing Rights

  1. The Company is committed to preventing loss, theft, leakage, alteration, or damage of personal information by safely managing the personal information of the User and implements necessary technical, administrative, and physical measures.

    1. • The User can exercise the rights to request view personal information, correct errors thereof, and delete at any time to the Company.

    2. • The exercise of the above rights may be exercised in writing, by phone, e-mail, or fax to the Company, in response to which the Company will act without delay.

    3. • When the User requests correction or deletion of errors in personal information, the Company will not use or provide the personal information until the correction or deletion thereof is completed.

    4. • In case of children under 14 years of age, the exercise of the above rights can be completed through an agent such as a legal representative of the User or a person who is delegated with the rights. In this case, the legal representative has all rights of the User.

    5. • The User shall not infringe on the personal information and privacy of the User himself/herself or others that the Company handles in violation of applicable laws such as the Communications Network Act and the Personal Information Protection Act, etc.

Article 8) Personal Information Protection Manager and Remedy for Infringement of User Rights and Interests

  1. The Company has the responsibility to oversee tasks related to the processing of personal information and designates the Personal Information Protection Manager as below for handling user complaints of and remedy for damages to the User related to personal information processing.

  3. The User may inquire of the Personal Information Protection Manager about matters regarding all inquiries related to the protection of personal information, handling of complaints, and damage relief, etc. that occur during the usage of the Service. The Company will respond and handle inquiries by the User without delay.

Article 9) Changes in the Privacy Policy

  1. The Privacy Policy takes effect from the date of implementation, and the Company will notify any addition, deletion, or correction of changes according to applicable laws and policies through the website without delay.
